15th yearly festival with concerts, céilís, CD launches, pub sessions, singers’ night, workshops – with music and dance for all ages.
This annual celebration of the music of Kilfenora and North Clare began in 2009 with the centenary of the Kilfenora Céilí Band. The festival is noted for great concerts and céilís, cracking CD launches and pub sessions, a very special singers’ night, and opportunities for all ages to participate in music and dance activities.
The open-air céilí on Sunday afternoon in Kilfenora Square with the Kilfenora senior and youth Céilí Bands is one of the outstanding events in Irish traditional music. They also stage the first ‘Riches of Clare’ concert of the year, in Kilfenora’s historic cathedral.
Every year their main concert features a top Irish traditional act. In 2022, it was Four Men & A Dog; for 2024, they have an all-star concert with Tommy Fitzharris, Donal McCague, Colm O’Caoimhe, and singer Nell Ni Chronin. They will also stage a dance spectacular with award winning dancers and musicians from Clare to Brittany.
Many activities are free to attend.
