Kilrush Farmer’s Market brings history to life every Thursday at The Square, with local produce, baked goods, crafts, and live music when weather allows.

Kilrush Farmer’s Market is a long-standing part of West Clare’s history, continuing the tradition of open-air trading in the heart of the town. Held every Thursday from 9am until 2pm on The Square in Kilrush, the market offers visitors an authentic taste of local life and a vibrant showcase of Clare’s finest produce.

Stalls brim with freshly baked breads and cakes, seasonal fruit and vegetables, local cheeses, preserves, free-range eggs, and more. In addition to food, visitors can browse unique handmade crafts and artisan goods, perfect as gifts or keepsakes of a trip to Clare.

The market is more than a shopping experience—it is a community hub where visitors meet the producers, hear their stories, and soak up the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Kilrush. On fine days, the market is brought further to life with traditional Irish music, adding a joyful soundtrack to the bustling square.

Conveniently located in the town centre, Kilrush Farmer’s Market is family-friendly, easy to explore, and steeped in local character. As a living part of Kilrush’s heritage, it remains both a proud tradition and a vibrant visitor experience for all who come to West Clare.

Kilrush Farmer’s Market was proudly granted Arts on the Square status by Clare County Council. This initiative helps us bring exceptional live music and artistic performances to The Square in Kilrush, enriching the visitor experience and creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere alongside our weekly market.
