
A weekend of set dancing to the top céilí bands in Labasheeda, Co. Clare on the banks of the Shannon Estuary.
The Dan Furey Weekend is a festival of set dancing for all enthusiasts on the weekend of August 21st to 23rd in 2026. Now celebrating its 29th year, the festival has endured since its inception in 1995 in memory of Dan Furey who dedicated his life to teaching and preserving the dances associated with the Labasheeda area.
This year’s event will again highlight the very best of céili music for dancers and those who appreciate traditional Irish music. Two of Clare’s best will take to the stage with the the Tulla Céili Band playing on Friday 21st at 9pm, on Saturday 22nd the renowned Kilfenora Céili Band will provide the music starting at 9pm, while on Sunday 23rd another of the set dancers favourites, Johnny Reidy and his céili band bring the dancing to a conclusion beginning at 2.30pm. There are workshops and other events also in this picturesque location on the banks of the Shannon estuary for everyone to enjoy.
