The Burren Slow Food Festival Food, Arts & Wellbeing Sunday 10th May 2026 | 10.30am – 4pm | The Pavilion Community Hall, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare | Free Admission

Nestled in the wild heart of the Burren, one of Ireland’s most extraordinary landscapes, the Burren Slow Food Festival returns for its 21st year — and it promises to be the most memorable yet.

This beloved annual celebration brings together the very best of Irish food culture, artisan producers, world-class chefs, and community spirit, all in one joyful, free day out for the whole family.

A stellar line-up of culinary talent takes centre stage this year. The incomparable Darina Allen of Ballymaloe — one of Ireland’s most passionate voices for real, natural food — joins a remarkable roster of chefs for live cookery demonstrations. Watch Liam Finnegan, Executive Head Chef at the five-star Ashford Castle, share his philosophy of beautifully sourced, perfectly executed cooking. Be inspired by Asia Mahealani McDonagh, the reigning Irish Pâtisserie Champion, bringing her Hawaiian roots and Galway heart to the stage. Jonathan Keane, awarded Best Chef in Connaught, will showcase his deep commitment to foraging and kitchen gardens.

Nourish your body and mind with a full day of wellness activities — yoga, sound baths, reflexology, Qi Gong, craniosacral therapy, and even acupuncture, led by 12 different teachers. All workshops are available for just €25 for the entire day.

Explore and discover on a guided historical walk through Lisdoonvarna with local guide Pat Dowling, uncovering the fascinating story of Ireland’s most famous spa town.

The National Parks & Wildlife Service will also be on hand with their mobile education van, revealing the secrets of the Burren’s unique landscape. The crew from Leave No Trace will be educating children through fun games.

Shop, taste, and linger at the Lisdoonvarna Farmers Market, where artisan food producers from Clare and beyond bring their finest wares. Grab a bite from the food stalls, or settle in at the pop-up café run by the Burren Display Centre, serving dishes crafted from the finest local ingredients.

And the celebrations begin the night before — on Saturday 9th May, Chef Peter Jackson and his team at the Burren Storehouse host an exclusive 4-course Slow Food Banquet at 7pm, toasting 21 years of the festival with a glass of champagne and an exceptional menu showcasing the very best of County Clare’s larder.

The Burren Slow Food Festival is free to attend. Banquet and wellness workshop tickets available separately. Bring the whole family — and your shopping bag.
