Surrounded by rich pastures and scattered woodland, the scenic and small village of Bridgetown is situated close to the River Shannon and a wealth of indoor and outdoor visitor attractions across southeast Clare.
The neighbouring village of O’Briensbridge, located just two kilometres from Bridgetown, is home to some of the Clare’s most scenic walking trails. Along the O’Briensbridge to Old Barge Loop Walk you can experience a little piece of history, as it includes the old canal towpath used, in years past, for horses to pull barges up the waterway. The picturesque 12km walk passes along the riverbank and towpaths from O’Briensbridge to Clonlara and returns via the headrace embankment.
Bridgetown is located close to the villages of Clonlara and Ardnacrusha and local visitor attractions, such as the Ardnacrusha Power Station, the National Kart Centre, Clonlara Equestrian Centre and Suas Climbing Centre.
