Play the golf links at Spanish Point Golf Club

Spanish Point, West Clare

Golf
Cool For Kids

Spanish Point Golf Course is among the oldest links in the country, with golf being played there before World War 1. Many factors popularised golf at Spanish Point. It was a links-based golf course playable all year; the famed West Clare Railway passed nearby, and the houses owned by the Moroney estate also accommodated the golfing gentry.

Opened in 1896 and affiliated in 1915, Spanish Point Golf Club was voted the Best 9-Hole Golf Course in Munster 2019 by the Golfers Guide to Ireland. It is situated 3km south of Miltown Malbay on the N67 and is only 10km from Lahinch and Doonbeg. It is a mature and beautiful classic 9-hole links course covering 5,162 yards (4,720 meters) for 18 holes (par 68). It has natural drainage and rarely closes, even in more inclement weather.

The club has grown and developed and now has 750 members. Visitors, societies and groups are always welcome throughout the year, but prior booking is recommended.

On the Wild Atlantic Way and overlooking the beach at Spanish Point, it offers fine views with typical West Coast of Ireland Atlantic golfing conditions, which add to the challenge for all golfers.

The course is open from dawn until dusk year-round, and you can enjoy hot and cold drinks and light snacks in the licensed club bar. You can also purchase and rent items of golf equipment.
