Sail with Doolin Ferry to the Cliffs of Moher

Doolin, North Clare

Boat Trips

Breathe in the majesty of the Cliffs of Moher by sea on this wonderful cruise. Marvel at the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Coastline.

The Cliffs of Moher (Aillte an Mhothair) are one of Ireland’s most popular visitor attractions. However, until you see them from the ferry, you haven’t really seen them at all.

These amazing sea cliffs are named from the ancient Gaelic word ‘Mhothair’ (Moher), which means ruined fort. They rise to a jaw-dropping height of over 214 metres (700ft) at their highest point. The ferry sails right beneath this point just north of O’Brien’s Tower. The furthest point of the cliffs from Doolin is Hags Head in Liscannor. Here you can find the 1st-century fort, Moher Tower, that it is named for.

It is hard to take in their magnificent heights until you see them from sea level. The people walking along the trail high above appear no larger than ants!

This cruise is a truly unique way to take in the majesty of these iconic cliffs. During the trip, you will hear a live commentary from the experienced crew on a journey you will be sure to remember. Take in the wildlife, nature, and history of the stunning West of Ireland coastline. See Ireland’s largest sea bird colony at An Branán Mór (Sea Stack), and the sea cave used in filming ‘Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince’. You may even spot some puffins, dolphins, seals, or basking sharks. Doolin Ferry has many tour options to choose from, including group and school tour trips.

The length of the boat tour depends on the sailing conditions of each day, therefore this cruise isn’t the same on each trip. The tour lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour, but your memories will last a lifetime. The ferry departs from Doolin Pier and returns to Doolin Pier.

Cliffs of Moher Ferry departs 7 days a week, from March to October (including Bank Holidays). You can travel in style with Doolin Ferry Co and enjoy a fast and comfortable trip.

You may take a trip to the Aran Islands and also enjoy the Cliffs of Moher Cruise on the same day. Visit any of the three Aran Islands, and upon your return journey, you can remain on board and enjoy the Cliffs of Moher Cruise. The Cliffs Cruise is available to be added to every single island departure time. This is their best value and most popular ferry ticket.
