Ballinruan, East Clare


The elevated village of Ballinruan is located close to the county boundary with Galway and boasts commanding views of the Clare countryside and the Burren National Park in the distance.

The 10km Ballinruan Loop follows quiet country roads and circles the scenic Doon Lough. The 15km Gortnamearacaun Loop takes 5 hours to complete.

Ballinruan is located on the Mid Clare Way, which takes walkers on a circular route through rolling countryside and the neighbouring village of Crusheen. The extended Mid Clare Way takes six-days to complete. The 148km-loop boasts remote hills, river valleys and lake shore scenery in abundance and connects with the East Clare Way.
