Located in the lakeside village of Mountshannon, just a short walk from Lough Derg, Berrytree is a delightful boutique café, where homemade food, outstanding service, quality ingredients and a love of bringing people together is at the heart of everything it does.
With its signature turquoise frontage, cosy interior and sunny patio, Berrytree is a favourite among locals and visitors alike; the perfect place to unwind, chat and linger, whether you’re exploring the area, catching up with friends and family, or simply enjoying a leisurely break.
Having started out as a small home bakery, then market stall and coffee trailer, Berrytree Café opened its doors in summer 2023. From day one, Berrytree has been committed to providing real food and genuine hospitality.
Its carefully curated menu – which showcases local and regional produce – consists of homemade and handcrafted dishes, with seasonal twists. Whether it’s for brunch, lunch or just a snack, there’s something for everyone – from granola bowls, fluffy pancakes and savoury breakfasts, to hearty soups, gourmet sandwiches and salads, to freshly baked scones and sweet treats, all made with flavour and balance in mind. The drinks menu is vast, with everything from speciality coffee and teas, smoothies and milkshakes, to wines and signature drinks such as hugo and homemade lemonade.
Regardless of age, taste or dietary requirement, Berrytree puts your needs first. This is reflected in its varied selection of gluten-friendly, vegetarian and plant-based options. Berrytree also looks after its younger guests, with a small book nook, a treasure chest full of goodies, and a children’s menu with delicious, wholesome choices. Dogs are welcome too – on the outdoor patio – and can look forward to a refreshing bowl of water and dog treats.
In the afternoons, guests can enjoy the European tradition of the apéro, and relax with a glass of wine, spritz or mocktail, paired with small bites, good conversation and a continental vibe.
Berrytree is more than just a café – it’s also a creative and social hub, hosting workshops, book launches, art exhibitions, jazz and wine evenings, and other small gatherings. The space can also be rented for private or community events, making it a flexible and welcoming venue for all occasions.
Berrytree makes every visit feel that little bit special – a place you’ll want to return to before you’ve even left.
