Reconnect with Nature on the only private mountain with a driving track to give universal access to the Burren. Experience this unique landscape and learn about life and farming in the Burren. Travel with us through part of Europe’s largest karst landscape and be transported into another world, another time and place.

Taking the route of the herdsmen of long ago to bring their cattle to the mountain for the winter, you will see relics of life 5,000 years ago and encounter parts of the Burren highlands previously only seen by locals. Experience the tranquillity of the vast expanse of magnificent limestone paving far from the crowded tourist spots below. The views of Galway Bay, the Aran Islands and Connemara from the mountain top are breadth taking, as are the exotic mix of flowers that thrive here from different parts of the world.

Our family have farmed this land for generations, acting as custodians of this precious landscape and handing it down from generation to generation. Farming in the Burren is very different to that elsewhere and you will learn about this on your journey with us. The Mountain is an integral part of farming in the Burren, it is where the cattle spend the winter, grazing the 1,000 acres and in so doing ensuring the continuation of the intricate eco system of the Burren.

We offer a number of unique and authentic experiences on the mountain top and the opportunity to meet and greet one of the largest herds of alpacas in Ireland. Choose from walking or driving or create your own unique Burren experience by adding music, storytelling or refreshments. Let us make this a truly memorable experience for you on Murrough Mountain in the heart of the Burren.
