Designed by the late Dr Arthur Spring from Tralee, the course is just a stone’s throw from Lough Derg and has upwards of 500 members.
The breathtaking panoramic views, particularly from the 6th and 12th greens, and the natural beauty of the numerous on-course water features combine to make this one of the most talked-about courses in the region. Each hole has a different challenge with strategically placed hazards, bunkers, lakes, and streams. Fairways are wide, and greens are proportionately placed.
East Clare Golf Club is a member-owned club with community membership, where volunteerism plays a huge role in the club’s success. The club is a testament to the proud members and volunteers who tirelessly work behind the scenes.
The influx of new members allied to the volunteerism ethic of the club points to a bright future for East Clare Golf Club.
Teams represent the club in various men’s and ladies’ Golf Ireland competitions. The club also has an active seniors section for both ladies and men and attractive rates for young members.
The cuckoo comes out in East Clare at the end of April. One of the nostalgic attractions for golfers at the club is that they can hear the cuckoo sing as they play their round of golf.
East Clare is considered a hidden gem and an essential component in the itinerary of the golfing enthusiast.
