Dolphinwatch Carrigaholt runs boat tours around the mouth of Ireland’s greatest river, the River Shannon.

They depart from the Castle Pier in Carrigaholt, from where they venture out into the Shannon Estuary to find its fascinating residents: bottlenose dolphins!

On board, your skipper and guide is Mary Kate Bolger, a marine biologist specialising in these dolphins. She will not only point out exciting and wonderful behaviours but also provide a deep scientific insight into their lives, anatomy, and global relevance.

After spending some time with the dolphins, you will head over to the cliffs to spot some stunning birdlife and magnificent geology, and often you see some distant cousins of the dolphins: wild goats!!

They have a small café on board, providing a hot drink which is always better at sea. Mary Kate and her crew will be available to answer any questions throughout the trip. They hope to see you on board soon!
