Feile Brian Ború

An annual five day festival which commemorates Irelands Greatest High King in his native place.
Féile Brian Boru will take place over five days in the twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina.
Our main aim is to highlight and make available our local assets, such as the lake, walking trails and historical sites.
The programme will include a range of events to suit all tastes and ages and will attract visitors to the area to help us celebrate Féile Brian Ború, including:
A Living History camp with re-enactors, craft demonstrations, battle re-enactments and guided trips on the lake on a 40-foot replica Viking boat.
A Fireworks display over the River Shannon.
Kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, water zorbing, sailing taster sessions and wild swimming.
A range of workshops for all ages to including art, traditional crafts, gardening, foraging and natural food demo’s, drama for children and teenagers, painting for adults, making bird feeders from household products, clothes upcycling for teenagers.
Children can also take part in a variety of fun Brian Ború related workshops, such as sword and shield making, crown making, fairy decorating, jewellery making, painting, and colouring, also accompanied by face painting and hair wrapping.
Historical talks and guided walks in the area, for example, St. Flannan’s Cathedral and looking at different historical artefacts and monuments in the town.
