Michelin-Recognised Dining Inspired by the Burren and the Wild Atlantic Way

SPOT-THE-DIFFERENCE: One was crafted over five thousand years ago… the other rather more recently. Both are unmistakably Clare. Inspired by Poulnabrone Dolmen, this dish from Oar in Doolin blends ancient inspiration with contemporary creativity.

Where landscape inspires the plate.

Clare’s dramatic landscapes are not only shaping its beauty — they are also inspiring some of Ireland’s most creative food experiences. The county is home to four Michelin-recognised restaurants, where chefs draw influence from the Burren, the Atlantic coastline and the outstanding local produce found across this remarkable part of Ireland.

At restaurants such as Homestead Cottage, Doolin; Gregans Castle, Ballyvaughan; Oar, Doolin; and Vaughan’s Anchor Inn, Liscannor, food is presented with imagination and a strong sense of place. Seasonal seafood, locally sourced ingredients and contemporary Irish cooking are combined with striking presentation that often reflects the surrounding landscape itself.

From the limestone landscapes of the Burren to the crashing Atlantic coastline, Clare continues to inspire chefs to create dishes that are both rooted in tradition and unmistakably contemporary.
